:: Blank Page ::

I'm staring at this blank page.  And it stares back.  Tauntingly.

I have so many things whirlpooling inside my brain but I couldn't get those words to come out .

So this is what I have to say, today.  At least.

Well I guess this blank page is not so blank after all.

:: Too Much of Nothing [Vol. 3] ::

I’ll be inevitably busy this June.  Trips to KL on every week starting next week.  Mommy has started doing the nineteen talks to the dozen.  And suggesting, in a very cynical way, that I move to KL.

And this week has been a very frustrating week for me ciz of few things:

1.     I asked for a transfer.  My wish was granted and it takes effect starting 1st of July.  I wanted to change to another department because I can’t work well with my current boss.  Emotionally inept.  Work-wise we are okay but we don’t have the chemistry.  The only reason I put up with his ‘behavior’ for two miserable years was because he has a cute pilot son.  :P Well okay I was kidding about his cute pilot son.  He’s cute and he is a pilot, just don’t take my words seriously.

2.    And yesterday I was briefed by my director about the new department that I’ll be joining this July.  I almost fainted when I was told that the new boss is no better than my current boss.  I’m stuck in this trapezoidal.

3.    Monday I went to Ayam Mas for lunch and I ordered the set of Hainan Chicken Rice.  I waited for almost an hour for my food to arrive only to know that they ran out of Hainan Chicken and if I really want it I gotta wait for another hour.  Good God!  Why didn’t she inform me earlier so that I could ask for an alternative?

4.    And yesterday was the second time this week I ordered food and the waiter came after half an hour of waiting saying that the food I ordered was out.  And he had to wait that long to inform me!!!

5.    I had a bicker with my lil sis yesterday when I asked her to pick the clothes from the clothes lines and she refused to do so and told me that she has done a lot yesterday.  I didn’t see anything different since I left the house in the morning.  The floor wasn’t swept, the clothes I folded the night before were still there and she didn’t help me stacking it up in the closet like I asked her to do.  I saw cups all over the house. Empty cups.  Empty used cups.  And she was comfortably coiling in front of the TV set watching 'Open Season'.  And she claimed she has done a lot.  Pffftt….

6.    What annoys me the most, it was reported yesterday that Nani was ruled out from playing for Portugal coz of the collarbone injury.  And he’s the soul of Portugal.  And Portugal is in the same group as Brazil.   And Portugal has lost Pepe earlier in an injury.  And my heart is with Portugal.  And I cant afford seeing Portugal not make it to the Final this year just like last four years.  Viva Portugal!  You have my heart.

7.    And this morning my Achilles tendon is swelling and it hurts like very much.

:: Tough Sh*t ::

I came across the above picture cuppla years ago.  But I did not know the story behind the picture until a few months back.

The picture was taken in 1993 by Kevin Carter while on his way to UN food centre during the Sudan famine.  He stopped and took the picture of a little girl crawling towards the centre (which was reported to be a kilometre away) while she was stalked by a hungry looking vulture.

A year later, in 1994, this picture won a Pulitzer Prize.

During the press conference he was asked “what happened to the child?”

He could set his camera for 20 minutes and waited for the vulture to spread it wings, but it did not happen. He left the emaciated girl after he chased the vulture away, and yet he did not help carry the poor girl to the food camp.

He got depressed of what he had seen over those years, he committed suicide 3 months later.  Died of carbon monoxide poisoning.  Google him out.  His life story is very interesting.

Maltbie Babcock once said, opportunities do not come with their values stamped upon them.  Kevin carter has had the opportunity to help her but as scarce as the oxygen, he failed to see it.

So chickadees,  if opportunity doesn't knock, build a door.

p/s:  I'm watching Shutter Island while composing this.

:: Bah Humbug! ::

I been getting weird questions from guys that I’ve come to know over these few years.

I was once asked by an online friend if I wear watch on my right.  I answered I’m right-handed, I have watch on my left.  Asked him why, he said he just dig a girl who wears her watch on her right wrist.  Odd I must say, but that would probably just him.

I was even asked if I have piercing in any other part of my body besides my earlobes.  I replied I do not enjoy torturing myself.  Furthermore, having rings on other part of your body especially your face makes you look trashy.  Idk.  It’s just me maybe.

I was asked if I ever consider dating a shorter guy since I’m pretty tall.  What kinda question was that?

And recently I was asked by a guy if I have fillings in my teeth.   I asked him back, if he has fillings in his teeth (he has a nice row of teeth btw).  He replied in the affirmative.  I asked him why he asked.  His answer was, he believes a girl that has no fillings in her teeth can take care of the family as she’s good in taking care of her teeth.

Go ahead, read it again, you know you want to, but it won't make any more sense the next time through.

Like seriously, except children, do you know anyone that has no fillings in their teeth?
