:: The Wedding Plan [Vol. 2] ::

Where were we?  Oh yeah the wedding theme, I’m not done with that yet... My initial idea is to have a traditional wedding but he doesn’t agree with it.  He wants it to be a country wedding.  A country wedding?  So I had to ask my best friend, Googlina.  Guess what 'she' said?   A country wedding equals a horse ride.  Where can I find horses in Kuantan?  So he said to drop the horse but have lotsa flowers.  So its like a garden wedding.  Senang cerita!  But if it’s a country wedding, shouldn’t it be more colors chipping in?

So today, I’ve started with the scrapbook – for easier reference.  I still remember having a scrapbook when I started having the idea of building a house 3 years back.

And today I bought majalah ‘Pengantin’.  And yes, I’m laughing at myself.

Mommy has started with list of guests.  His guests would not be as many as mine.  Which he found a little bit annoying.

Food wise.  My aunt owns a catering business (Abu, thanks anyways for the offer) and she is more than willing to help.  I like anything and everything traditional.  Even when it comes to food.  I like going to a wedding reception where they serve nasi and lauk kampong.  Like lemak nenas ikan masin, or daging masak kawah, with sambal belacan and various ulams.  But the family would prefer nasi baryani, briyani, berani ummmm how do you spell that?  So I don’t have the priority to decide on that.

Since we have agreed on the dates.  I’ll be visiting the printing company tomorrow.  Time to choose the cutest card on earth.

:: The Wedding Plan [Vol. 1] ::

So we’ve got the date.  Its gonna be on 18th February 2011 night.  Its his birthday.  Both families have agreed that the akad is on the 18th.  The kenduri will follow suit the next day.

Its gonna be the next wedding ceremony after what…. 6 years.  I never noticed that it has been that long.  And since the day we agreed on the dates it has been the talk of the family.  The wedding theme, the invitation card, meetings with the other family members, the location, the hantaran, the wedding rings, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

So many things to do and so little time.  I’m not sure if it’s a sudden plan but I’m certain that the family has never been any surer than this one.  Mommy has gotten all excited about this.  I could see the glow in her eyes that she’s so happy each time we discussed about this topic.  And each time she looked at me while we were having this discussion she would rub my head and slowly run her fingers through my hair.  Which I love most.

Okay we may scrap that soppy talk out.

I came out with a wedding theme.  I want it to be brownish gold or maybe goldish brown, well which ever fits the color palette.  I’ve always like brown.  I have various tones of brown in my closet.  And yes this is definitely gonna be another brown.  If its not brown, its gonna be cream.  Darkest cream.

So okay, the budget.  Man!!! I never knew the budget would be this huge.  Compare to 6 years back.  Satu orang makan would be somewhat 12-15 ringgit.  Seribu orang would be 15k.  Now what if its more than 1000 guests?  Hmmmm…

The location will unquestionably at home.  We agreed not to have the reception at the hotel or any dewan.  The house bed is huge enuff to place 10 canopies (and another 10 along the lorong, if it needed to be that many).

Owh shoot I gotta skoot off.  I’ll continue tomorrow.
