I love having my gay cousin back in town. He’s been my bestest bud ever since we were tiny tots. Why? Ciz he will never judge me for wanting to see as-other-male-species-would-call-bad-movies (unlike my other guyfriends), as he probably wants to see them himself. It never bothers me watching PG rated movies with him and drooling over the same man. Okay! Okay! I may be exaggerating a bit about watching PG rated movies with him.
Neeways... where was I? Owh yeah, it was raining all day last Sunday and I figured I could leave the house and see a movie, or stay in and watch one. I was still a little unwell, so decision made – stay in and watch movie. Called up my cuzzo and asked if hes not doing anything and that he could accompany me watching movie at home. Of course he would never say no to me.
Me: Movie you have in mind?
Cuzzy: August Rush or Enchanted?
Me: Saw August Rush and Enchanted with Elly. I bought two new movies. So, Transformers or Terminator? *wrinkling nose*
Cuzzy: Do you have Enchanted? *grins*
Me: Yeeeeah! But Enchanted is soooo last year la.
Cuzzy: But Mila, Enchanted has McDreamy *batting eyelashes*
I succumbed to it. With cans of diet coke a bowl of fried keropok ikan and a small bowl of chili sauce. Pull the couch closer to the tv set… with our feet on mom's spanking new Ottoman, he held the sauce and I, the keropok… my left arms and his right arms were crossing to dip in each other’s.
The first time I watched it (Enchanted), I thought they might take it in a satirical, princes aren’t real, get over your fairy tale, forget the happy ending, and move on direction. Because I am a complete idealist, obviously. But this is a Disney movie and Disney makes it billions off of selling an ideal of castles and white knights and glitter and doves in heart-shaped flower arrangements. I don’t feel as if I’m spoiling things by saying that the movie ends exactly how you think it will.
Btw….. Did I mention that McDreamy was in the movie?
“I feel so sorry for him, did he not read the script before he signed the deal?” Cuzzy said with his mouth full of keropok.
This was when Alyssa woke up from her sleep and came to us and slipped herself in between us.
That weekend, like any other weekend, I was thinking of having a marathon of Grey’s Anatomy Season 3 which I still have five or six episodes left to watch. And like any other weekend too, I procrastinated it again.
Miss procrastination I am.
p/s: I have no reason for having 'Miserable way to look cool' for the title of this post. I just dig the title. Its actually a title of Crestfallen's song... Terima kasih encik encik crestfallen ye...
People says the first sentence of a good article should've sparked a bulb in readers' mind.
ReplyDeleteUpon reading this article's first sentence, I'd said to myself: "Hmmm... that must be 'gay' in the classic English vocabularies that carries the meaning of 'happy'.
I'm gay! I'm happy!
I don't usually consider gay as happy, I use it because its use these days is generally confined to flinging at those who lead alternate lifestyles so I consider it an epithet. If I'm happy, cheerful or joyful those are the words I choose to use. If I am talking about someone who lives an alternate lifestyle, this is the word I use.
ReplyDeleteBut hey.. I'm gay too coz i love men :P
Perhaps u should consider yourself about learning a thing or two about sarcasm. :D
